What is happening?

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order:

U75219, Scar Cottage Lane, Dorstone, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the U75219, Scar Cottage Lane, Dorstone, approximately 100 metres east of Scar Cottage. Grid Ref: 331024/243304. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via Scar Cottage Lane onto the B4348, onto the Dorstone Hill, onto Arthurs Stone Lane, onto Scar Cottage Lane, and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to drainage works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 22nd of September 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 5 days.
