What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Redwick Road, Pilning) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Redwick Road which extends from Severn Road to Northwick Road. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. The order will be operative from 1 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 weeks duration. Alternative route: B4055, A4018, Crow Lane, B4055, A4018, A4162, A4, A403 and vice versa.

(Aldermoor Way, Longwell Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Aldermoor Way which extends from Marsham Way westwards for 50m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with sewer repair works. The order became operative from 14 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between 4pm and 6am. Alternative route: Aldermoor Way, A431, Marsham Way and vice versa.

(New Street, Charfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of New Street which extends from a point 310m south of Swinhay Lane southwards for 120m. 
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon water main maintenance works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 10 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: B4058 Wotton Road, Stumpwell Lane, Swinhay Lane and vice versa.

(Station Road, Warmley) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Station Road which extends from a point 45m south west of High Street south westwards for 20m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon separation of supply works on or adjacent to the highway. 
The order became operative from 8 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 days duration. Alternative route: A420, Tower Road North, Station Road and vice versa.

(Middledown Road and Ayford Lane, Marshfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pre surface dressing and resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 nights duration, in respect of each location. SCHEDULE 1. Middledown Road – that length which extends from the A46 to Castle Lane; 2. Ayford Lane – that length which extends from a point 75m north of St Catherine’s Lane north eastwards for 500m. Alternative routes (vice versa): 1. George Lane, A420, A46; 2. St Catherine Lane, Leigh Lane, A46, A420, High Street, St Martin’s Lane, Ashwicke Road and Ayford Lane (part unaffected).

(Various Roads, Various Wards – Surface Dressing Patching and Resurfacing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; b) suspend, temporarily, when the signs are covered the South Gloucestershire Council (Weight Restriction Zone – Frampton Cotterell Area) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2001 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles; c) suspend, temporarily, when the signs are covered the South Gloucestershire Council (Down Road, Westerleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Heavy Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2024 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pre surface dressing and carriageway resurfacing works. The order will be operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 days duration, in respect of each location. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon s.184 road resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 daysduration. Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Park Lane which extends from a point 230m north west of Badminton Road northwards for 195m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with bridge repair works. The order will be operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
