BOROUGH OF ROCHDALE (PERMANENT DIVERSION OF PART OF DEFINITIVE FOOTPATH LITFP98)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
The above Order, made on 28th August 2025, under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the public footpath LitFp98.
The existing path or way for LitFp98 as shown by a continuous bold black line on the Order Map has a length of 92.67 metres. From Grid Ref: 392552 416058 39 meters north north west of James Street, Littleborough proceed in a north west direction for 17 meters and continuing in a generally south west direction for 41 meters to a point at the cul de sac of School Street Grid Ref: 392503 416035.
The surface is natural and a width of 1.5 meters and a total length of 58 meters.
The section of LitFp98 to be diverted is described as beginning at a point 39 metres north west from James Street, Littleborough Grid Ref: 392552 416058, continuing in a south west direction for 54 metres to the end of the footpath at the cul de sac of School Street Grid Ref: 392503 416035. The surface is natural and a width of 1.5 meters. A total length of 54 meters is to be diverted as shown by a bold broken line on the Order Map has a length of 96 metres and the new section width is to be 1.5 metres.
A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at the Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Monday to Friday and viewed on the Council’s website www.rochdale.gov.uk.
Copies of the Order and map may be bought there at the price of £5.00.
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Assistant Director of Legal, Governance & Coroners Rochdale Borough Council, Number One Riverside,Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU (quoting reference SG/NBH001/496) not later than 1st October 2025 Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Rochdale Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
