Croydon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984,

SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

FACTORY LANE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PARKING

  1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main decommissioning and reconnection works on behalf of SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular parking in Factory Lane, Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, permit/payment parking places in the road’s west side of Factory Lane between its junction with Enterprise Close and the eastern boundary of Communication House, No. 5 Factory Lane, will be suspended. Waiting and loading restrictions operating at the time will apply to those bays.

  3. The Order will come into operation on 11 September 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 18 December 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

  4. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ROCKMOUNT ROAD, UPPER NORWOOD

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gulley investigation and repair works they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Rockmount Road.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Rockmount Road will be closed between its junctions with Troy Road and Lillieslee Close.

  3. During the closure the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below:

  • Via Orleans Road, Vermont Road, and Harold Road.

  • Via Central Hill, Harold Road, Vermont Road, and Orleans Road.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 16 September 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within approximately three days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be necessary.

  2. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (b) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

PLAY STREET CLOSURE – WESTFIELD AVENUE,

SOUTH CROYDON

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to close the section of Westfield Avenue, South Croydon, specified in this notice, to vehicular traffic at the times and on the date specified in the Schedule to this notice, to facilitate a play street.

  2. During the date and times specified in the Schedule to this notice Westfield Avenue will be closed between its junctions with Court Hill and Rectory Park.

  3. During this closure the alternative route for traffic will be via Westfield Avenue, Court Hill, Brian Avenue, Shaw Crescent, Eglise Hyacint and Rectory Park and reversed, or via Rectory Park, Hyde Road, Copthorne Rise and Westfield Avenue.

  4. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.

  5. Nothing in the Order shall apply:

    a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

    b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the Order applies.

  6. The Order will come into effect on Sunday 28 September 2025, during the times shown in the Schedule to this notice.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

THORNTON HEATH HIGH STREET - FESTIVAL ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a festival in Thornton Heath High Street they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order the effect of which will be to:

(a) temporarily suspend parking and introduce “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions on the south-west side of Benhsam Manor Road, and on both sides of the High Street, Thornton Heath.

(b) temporarily close streets to vehicular traffic as detailed in Schedule 1 to this notice.

(c) revoke one-way working in the roads listed in Schedule 2 to this notice.

  1. The Order will come into effect on 07 September 2025 and will remain in force for one day.

  2. Whilst the prohibition remains in force, the alternative route for diverted traffic will be:

(a) in the case of High Street, Thornton Heath, via Whitehorse Road, Bensham Manor Road, and Brigstock Road, or via Norwood Road, St. Paul’s Road, Padmore Road, Brigstock Road, Bensham Manor Road and Whitehorse Road.

(b) in the case of Grange Park Road, via Buller Road, Hythe Road, and Grange Park Road.

(c) in the case of HGVs, via Whitehorse Lane, South Norwood Hill, Beulah Hill, Crown Lane, Streatham Common North, Streatham High Road, Green Lane and Parkthorne Road.

  1. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) Any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(b) A vehicle involved in the said event.

(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
