CROYDON COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED
THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS
MITCHAM ROAD, ROCHFORD WAY & THERAPIA LANE, CROYDON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING
Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in Mitcham Road, Rochford Way and Therapia Lane.
Whilst the said works are taking place:
(a) Rochford Way will be closed between its junctions with Mitcham Road and Therapia Lane.
(b) Therapia Lane will be closed at its junction with Mitcham Road.
(c) Parking will be suspended and temporary waiting and loading restrictions operating at any time will be introduced in Mitcham Road outside or opposite the following property numbers.
Outside Nos. 666 to 674, 636 to 652, 649 to 657, 637 to 643, 623 to 631, 613 to 623, 636 to 652, 610, 555 to 661, 547 to 553, and 533 to 553 Mitcham Road.
Opposite Nos. 543 to 531 Mitcham Road.
During the closures, the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
• Therapia Lane closure – via Mitcham Road, Rochford Way and vice versa.
• Rochford Way closure – via Mitcham Road, Therapia Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 28 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within approximately twelve weeks. However, the Order shall remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work,
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

SELHURST ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a railway bridge inspection, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Selhurst Road, South Norwood.
Whilst the said works are taking place Selhurst Road will be closed for 20 metres either side of railway bridge VTB1/57.
Whilst the closure is in place the alternative route for traffic will be via Whitehorse Road, Whitehorse Lane, South Norwood Hill, South Norwood High Street, Sunnybank, Manor Road, Portland Road, Spring Lane, Lower Addiscombe Road, Shirley Road, Addiscombe Road, Chepstow Road, Fairfield Road, Barclay Road, Pump Pail South, Old Town, Roman Way, Mitcham Road, Sumner Road, St James’s Road, and Windmill Road.
The Order will come into operation on 03 September 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out overnight from 10pm on 03 to 6am on 04 September 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work,
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

BRAEMAR AVENUE, BRIDPORT ROAD, ST STEPHEN’S CRESCENT, WARWICK ROAD & WILTSHIRE ROAD, THORNTON HEATH
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on the above roads.
Whilst the said works are taking place, the roads/sections of roads below will be closed, as detailed and one-way working in Braemar Avenue will be suspended.

Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
• Bridport Road: Via Strathyre Avenue, London Road, Winterbourne Road, and vice versa.
• Braemar Avenue Northbound: Via Bridport Road, Strathyre Avenue, and Melfort Road.
• Braemar Avenue Southbound: Via Bridport Road, Richmond Road, Quadrant Road, Broad Road, and Melfort Road.
• Warwick Road/St Stephen’s Crescent Northbound: Via London Road, Strathyre Avenue, and Bridport Road.
• Warwick Road/St Stephen’s Crescent Southbound: Via London Road, Winterbourne Road, and Wiltshire Road.
• Wiltshire Road Westbound: Via Warwick Road, London Road, and Winterbourne Road.
• Wiltshire Road Eastbound: Via Warwick Road, Bridport Road, and Winterbourne Road.
The Order will come into operation on 28 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on approximately 23 October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

BEULAH CRESCENT, THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate carriageway construction and drainage works for a new development, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements and parking in Beulah Crescent, Thornton Heath.
During the work:
(a) The carriageway of Beulah Crescent will be closed from its junction with Beulah Road to its junction with Osborne Road (outside Nos. 2 to 11 Beulah Crescent).
(b) The western footway of Beulah Crescent will be closed between No.5c and No. 8 Beulah Crescent.
(c) Parking in Beulah Crescent will be prohibited and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time from its junction with Beulah Road to its junction with Osborne Road (outside Nos. 2 to 11 Beulah Crescent).
Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted vehicles will be via Beulah Crescent. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be directed to the opposite footway.
The Order will come into operation on 15 September 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 27 October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle or person involved in the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
