(BURNBRAE ROAD, NEAR LENZIE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
On 02 September 2025 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works, and those vehicles requiring access to properties adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on Burnbrae Road, near Lenzie between its junction with the B819 Lindsaybeg Road and its junction with Calfmuir Road, near Kirkintilloch, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.
This Order will operate from 06.00 hours on Sunday, 14 September 2025 until 18.00 hours on Sunday, 28 September 2025.
Alternative Routes
The alternative routes will be by way of Muckcroft Road, Auchengeich Road, Gartferry Road, Main Street, Chryston Road, the B819 Lindsaybeg Road, the A806 Initiative Road, Menzies Drive, and Calfmuir Road, Kirkintilloch, and these routes will be sign posted.

NOTICE OF DIRECTION BY THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS UNDER SECTION 15(5) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
On 12 September 2023 the East Dunbartonshire Council made THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE COUNCIL (CHRYSTON ROAD, FAULDHEAD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2023 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which made it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on Chryston Road Fauldhead between its junction with Market Road, Kirkintilloch and its junction with Sauchenhall Road and Muckcroft Road, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.
On 10 September 2024 the East Dunbartonshire Council made THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE (CHRYSTON ROAD, FAULDHEAD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (EXTENSION) ORDER 2024 which extended the duration of this road closure and would have expired at 23.59 hours on Monday, 17 March 2025. On 24 January 2025 the Scottish Ministers made a direction in exercise of their powers under s15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the terms of THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE (CHRYSTON ROAD, FAULDHEAD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (EXTENSION) ORDER 2024 shall continue in force until Wednesday 17 September 2025.
The Scottish Ministers have now made a direction in exercise of their powers under s15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, following a request from East Dunbartonshire Council, that the terms of THE EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE (CHRYSTON ROAD, FAULDHEAD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (EXTENSION) ORDER 2024 shall continue in force until Tuesday, 17 March 2026, by reason of works being executed on or near the road.
Alternative Routes
The alternative route for vehicles will be by way of Sauchenhall Road, Gartshore Road, Mollins Road, the B8048 Waterside Road, Market Road, Calfmuir Road, and Muckcroft Road, and these routes are sign posted.
