What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN GRAVELEY LANE AND B197 (HIGH STREET/JACKS HILL, GRAVELEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (the “Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Graveley Lane, Graveley from its junction with B197 High Street/Jacks Hill southwards for a distance of approximately 252m.

An alternative route will be via B197 (High Street/Graveley Road), Stevenage Road, Arch Road, Graveley Road and Graveley Lane.

  1. that length of B197 (High Street/Jacks Hill), Graveley from its junction with Milksey Lane north eastwards then north eastwards for a distance of approximately 300m.

An alternative route will be via B197 (High Street/Graveley Road), A602 Stevenage Road, B656 Hitchin Hill/Park Street/Union Street/Walsworth Road, A505 Nightingale Road/Hitchin Road/Baldock Road/Letchworth Gate/Baldock Bypass and B197 Jacks Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ASTON LANE, STEVENAGE) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Aston Lane, Stevenage from its junction with A602 Broadhall Way southwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 300m (the “Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A602 Hooks Cross, High Street, Walkern Road, Benington Road, Stringers Lane and Aston Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE NORTH WEST SIDE OF A602 LYTTON WAY ROUNDABOUT, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north west side of A602 Lytton Way roundabout, Stevenage from a point 18m north east of its junction with the A1155 Fairlands Way/Monkswood Way roundabout north westwards then north eastwards for a distance of approximately 65m (the “Cycle Track”).

There is no alternative route available for cyclists whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because footway reconstruction works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RECTORY LANE, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rectory Lane, Stevenage from its junction with B197 North Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 687m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B197 North Road, A602 (Lytton Way/High Street), Walkern Road, Almonds Lane and Rectory Lane

or via Rectory Lane, Almonds Lane, Walkern Road, High Street, A602 (High Street/James Way/Lytton Way) and B197 North Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN GREYSLEY WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Greysley Way, Stevenage from its junction with the Six Hills Way Roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Fairlands Way Roundabout, a distance of approximately 290m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/

Monkswood Way), B1037 Fairlands Way and Greysley Way.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of that length of Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 15 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE DURING THE ‘STEVENAGE CHARTER FAIR’) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads, except for access:-

  1. that length of Drapers Way, Stevenage from its junction with High Street south westwards to its junction with Primett Road, a distance of approximately 72m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles whilst the event takes place. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

  1. that length of Bell Lane, Stevenage from its junction with High Street south westwards for its entire length.

An alternative route will be via A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A1155 Fairlands Way, A602 Lytton Way and Trinity Road.

  1. via Letchmore Road, Sish Lane, Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road

    or via Letchmore Road, Sish Lane, Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road

    that length of High Street, Stevenage from its junction with A602 High Street south eastwards to its junction with Trinity Road, a distance of approximately 652m.

An alternative route will be via Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road

or via Letchmore Road, Sish Lane, Trinity Road, A602 Lytton Way, A1155 Fairlands Way and A1072 Gunnels Wood Road

The sections of roads will be closed between the hours of 6.00am on Sunday 21 September 2025 and 4.00am on Wednesday 24 September 2025, when signs are in place.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the ‘Stevenage Charter Fair’.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B656 BARTON ROAD, HEXTON DURING THE ‘STAGE 1 LLOYDS TOUR OF BRITAIN MEN’) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 16A(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic, except those associated with the event, from using that length of B656 Barton Road, Hexton from a point 11m in the westbound lane of B656 Barton Road, Hexton to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Hexton Manor (southern boundary line) then south westwards then westwards for a distance of approximately 1527m (westernmost point inclusive).

The temporary road closure and temporary road diversion is in place.

The section of road will be closed on 07 September 2025 from 12.00midday to 1.00pm whilst the event takes place, when signs are in place.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the ‘Stage 1 Lloyds Tour of Britain Men’.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A1155 FAIRLANDS WAY, STEVENAGE AND ASHWELL ROAD, BYGRAVE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (the “Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

  1. that length of A1155 Fairlands Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A1155 St Georges Way roundabout eastwards to its junction with the Grace Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 575m.

An alternative route will be via A1155 Fairlands Way, A602 (Lytton Way/

Hitchin Road), A507 and A1198 northwards to its junction with Bygrave Road and Ashwell Road, Bygrave, a distance of approximately 92km.

An alternative route will be via Bygrave Road, A505 (North Road/Great North Road), Newnham Road, Ashwell Road, Newnham Way, West Street, High Street, Kingsland Way, Ashwell Street, Claybush Road and Ashwell Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BAINES LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southernmost carriageway of Baines Lane, Knebworth from a point 18m south of its junction with Bragbury Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 18m (the “Road”), except for access.

The alternative route will be via Baines Lane and Bragbury Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The alternative route will be via Newnham Road, Edworth Road, Newnham Road, Edworth Road, Edworth (unnamed road) and A1 (London Road) and A1 (London Road), Edworth (unnamed road) and Edworth Road, Edworth Road, Edworth Road and A1 (London Road)

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

  1. that length of Broad Oak Way, Stevenage from its junction with Broadwater Crescent south eastwards for a distance of approximately 337m.

An alternative route will be via Broadwater Crescent, St Margarets and Broad Oak Way.

  1. that length of Willow Lane/Charlton Road, Hitchin from its junction with A505 Moormead Hill south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A602 Park Way, a distance of approximately 813m.

An alternative route will be via A505 (Moormead Hill/Offley Road/Upper Tilehouse Street) and A602 Park Way.

  1. that length of A602 Park Way, Hitchin from the Gosmore Road/B656 junction north eastwards and north westwards to the A505 Upper Tilehouse Street/A505 Paynes Park roundabout, a distance of approximately 1024m.

An alternative route will be via B656 (Hitchin Hill/Park Street/Queens Road/ Walsworth Road) and A505 (Nightingale Road/Bunyan Road/Fishponds Road/

Verulam Road/Paynes Park)

or via A505 (Old Park Way/Bedford Road/Fishponds Road/Bunyan Road/ Nightingale Road) and B656 (Walsworth Road/Queens Road/Park Street/ Hitchin Hill)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southern carriageway of Arlesey Road, Ickleford from a point 180m north of its junction with (no. 123 Arlesey Road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 328m (the “Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Arlesey Road, Turnpike Lane, A600 Bedford Road, B659 Ickleford Road, A507 Arlesey Road, Arlesey Relief Road, Goodwin Drive, House Lane, High Street, Cambridge Road and Arlesey Road.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting and loading restrictions, parking bays, a taxi rank and a bus gate restriction in parts of Coreys Mill Lane, Stevenage as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
