Alltygrug Road - Temporary Road Closure For Maintenance Works

What is happening?

NEATH PORT TALBOT COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT(ALLTYGRUG ROAD, YSTALYFERA) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE E is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.

Whilst the Order is in force, the existing One-Way Traffic Order on Gough Road will be temporarily suspended from the junction of Penywern Road in an easterly direction to the junction of Alltygrug Road.

Whilst the Order is in force, the One-Way Traffic Order on Milborough Road will be temporarily suspended from the junction of Alltygrug Road in an easterly direction to the junction of Tirbach Road.

The Order is necessary to enable Openreach to carry out civil engineering works in the road and for the Highways section to carry out any necessary maintenance works.

The Order will come into force on the 18th September 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that the works will take 3 weeks to complete.

SCHEDULE
Alltygrug Road will be closed from its junction with Gough Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 300m along its length.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Alltygrug Farm Road, Penywern Road and Wern Road.

Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
