What is happening?

THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

CHARLOTTE STREET MEWS (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY SYSTEM) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order.

The effect of the Order will be to suspend the one-way system and allow two-way traffic along Charlotte Street Mews, Kingston upon Hull in two phases as follows:-

Phase 1: from its junction with Grimston Street for approximately 40 metres; and
Phase 2: from its junction with George Street for approximately 160 metres.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during installation of utility pipework.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Freetown Way and Worship Street.

Access will be partly maintained for emergency services for the length of street the two-way system is in operation.

The Kingston Upon Hull City Council Charlotte Street Mews (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2025 notice is amended to read:

Access will not be maintained for emergency services.

The Order will take effect on 15 September 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed in a period of approximately 64 days.
