What is happening?

THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (C ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. 4) ORDER 2025
THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (PLAY STREET) (NO. 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 1st September 2025 made the above Orders under sections 6, 29, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be to:
(a) create a Play Street in Ashmore Road, between its junctions with Marban Road and Kilburn Lane, in which vehicles will be prohibited between 3.00 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 10.00 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, only between 1st April and 30th September each year - exemptions will be provided for vehicles requiring access to premises, parking places or off-street parking only accessible from that length of road, and for the emergency services; and
(b) introduce “at any time” loading restrictions at the junction of Ashmore Road and Marban Road.

3. The Orders, which will come into force on 4th September 2025, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 13th October 2025 at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
