Alfred Gelder Street - Temporarily Extend the Existing Bus Gate
What is happening?

ALFRED GELDER STREET BUS GATE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order.
This Notice supersedes the Notice published on 15th August 2025. The effect of the Order is to temporarily extend the existing bus gate out of the City Centre from Carr Lane onto Alfred Gelder Street, from Vernon Street to Guildhall Road.
This is to enable public transport better facilitated passage around the city centre, whilst the strengthening and repair works are being carried out on Drypool Bridge.
The road will remain open to statutory undertakers, buses, taxis, motorcycles and other authorised vehicles as per the existing bus gate.
Access will be maintained for emergency services.
The Order will take effect on 10th September 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
