Central Drive, Romiley - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Footway And Crossing Works
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(CENTRAL DRIVE, ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Central Drive, Romiley, from the junction of Compstall Road, north for approximately 7 metres, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to facilitate footway and crossing works on Compstall Road. It is estimated these works will last 10 weeks. The following diversions will be provided; East - Compstall Road, Sandy Lane, Park Avenue, Central Drive and vice versa, West - Compstall Road, Guywood Lane, Leyfield Avenue, Central Drive and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on 11 September 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
