Hertfordshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN COOMBE ROAD, KELSHALL AND THERFIELD ROAD, ODSEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Coombe Road, Kelshall from its junction with A505 Baldock Road south eastwards to its junction with Kelshall Tops, a distance of approximately 2231m.
An alternative route will be via A505 Baldock Road, Baldock Road, Therfield Road, Kelshall Tops and Therfield Road.
2. that length of Therfield Road, Odsey from its junction with A505 Baldock Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 679m.
An alternative route will be via A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), Wallington Road, Kits Lane, The Street, C10 (unnamed road), Redhill, Roe Green, Rushden Road, C108 (unnamed road), Fears Green, North End, Kelshall Tops and Therfield Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SHELLEY CLOSE, ROYSTON) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Shelley Close, Royston from a point 23m south east of its junction with Burns Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 47m ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET/ UPPER KING STREET, ROYSTON) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street/Upper King Street, Royston from its junction with John Street north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 220m ("the length of Roads").
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties within these roads will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because water service repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 31 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.
