What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF THE MILE, POCKLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Part of The Mile, Pocklington starting at The
Mile Roundabout to its Junction with Kirkland Street
commencing 29 September 2025 until 17 October
2025 for the purposes of Gas Mains Replacement.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within 19 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via The Mile, The Mile Roundabout,
Garths End, Yapham Road, B1246 George Street and
Chapmangate, Pocklington CP, Pocklington Provincial
Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
