  4. (BRAKE HILL) (OXFORD) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**

  5. (MINCHERY FARM) (OXFORD) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**

  6. (OXFORD AREA – VARIOUS STREETS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order – for road safety & traffic management reasons – is to introduce new ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (Double Yellow Lines) & amend existing parking restrictions throughout Oxford as follows:

  1. Alice Smith Square:

    a. approach to the square (both sides) – to extend approx.15 metres northwards from the square,

    b. northern end of square (south side) – to extend along the entire southern kerb line, adjacent to Nos.2-8 & Nos.50-56,

    c. southern end of square (north side) – to extend approx.16 metres around either corner,

  2. Ashmole Place (south side) – extend the existing restrictions to cover the length between Nos.1-7,

  3. Balfour Road (south side):

    a. to extend approx.14m either side of its junction with Moorbank,

    b. to extend approx.12m either side of its junction with Warburg Crescent,

  4. Bampton Close (both sides) – to extend northwards from its junction with Sandy Lane West, then both sides adjacent to the playing field,

  5. Brake Hill:

    a. both sides – to extend approx.13m either side of its junction with Columbine Gardens/Jack Argent Close,

    b. both sides – to extend approx.13m either side of its junction with Partridge Walk,

    c. both sides – extend the existing restriction north of Grenoble Road, to approx.15m northeast of its junction,

  6. Brampton Road (both sides) – to extend approx. 20m either side of its junction with Wilcote Road,

  7. Chapel Lane (both sides) – to extend approx.8m northwards from its junction with Railway Lane,

  8. Columbine Gardens (both sides) – to extend approx.8m eastwards from its junction with Brake Hill,

  9. Druce Way:

    a. west side – to replace a length of ‘No Waiting Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm’ south of its junction with Sandy Lane,

    b. west side – for its entire length adjacent to the garages in the eastern leg,

    c. north side – to extend along the entire kerb line, excepting an approx.10m length adjacent to Nos.9 & 10,

    d. south side – to extend along the entire kerb line, excepting two lengths to remain unrestricted, for 38m adjacent to Nos.35-55, and 27m adjacent to Nos.28-48,

  10. Field Avenue

    a. north side – to extend from its junction with Pegasus Road, eastwards to a point approx.35m east of its junction with Vetch Place,

    b. south side – to extend approx.15m east of its junction with Pegasus Road,

  11. Frenchay Road (south side) – to replace the existing ‘Permit Holders Only, Mon-Sat, 8am-6.30pm’ parking bay, adjacent to Nos.27-33 in its entirety,

  12. Grenoble Road (north side) – to replace 21m of the existing ‘24hr Parking Places’ southwest of the junction with Nightingale Avenue,

  13. Harebell Road (both sides) – extend the existing restrictions south of its junction with Field Avenue, southwards by an additional 10m (replacing a length of ‘No Waiting Mon-Fri, 8am-6.30pm on the west side in the process),

  14. Jack Argent Close (both sides) – to extend approx.7m westwards from its junction with Brake Hill,

  15. Jordan Hill (south side) – to extend approx.30m before the turning area, adjacent to No.45,

  16. Jowett Walk (north side):

    a. to replace approx.15m of ‘Permit Holders Only’ parking place adjacent to the access to the Jowett Buildings/Baliol College sports ground,

    b. introduce an additional 8m of ‘Permit Holders Only’ in place of the existing DYLs at the eastern end.

  17. Moorbank (both sides) – to extend approx.8m southwards from its junction with Balfour Road,

  18. Norman Smith Road (both sides) – to extend approx.6m south-westwards from its junction with Brake Hill

  19. Park Town – to replace the existing ‘Permit Holders Only’ parking provision on the eastern side of the inner kerb line of the oval, opposite Nos.57-61 & Nos.60-64,

  20. Partridge Walk (both sides) – to extend approx.16m westwards from its junction with Brake Hill,

  21. Railway Lane:

    a. south side – to cover between its junctions with Sandford Road & Astrop Lane,

    b. north side – to extend approx.12m northwards from its junction with Sandford Road,

    c. north side – to extend approx.12m either side of its junction Chapel Lane,

  22. Sandford Road:

    a. south side – two lengths of approx.20m to cover the junctions with Lanham Way & Medhurst Way,

    b. north side – to extend approx.15m either side of its junction with Railway Lane,

  23. Warburg Crescent (both sides) – to extend approx.8m southwards from its junction with Balfour Road,

  24. Wilcote Road:

    a. north side – to extend approx.13m either side of its junction with the link to Brampton Road,

    b. south side – to extend from a point approx.30m west of its junction with the link to Brampton Road, eastwards to a point approx.15m east of this junction.

  25. Wilcote Road (link road):

    a. west side – to cover the entire length,

    b. east side – to extend approx.10m northwards & southwards from its junctions with Brampton Road & Wilcote Road respectively.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Central Area, Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2011, Oxfordshire County Council (North Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone and Various Restrictions) Order 2004, The City of Oxford (Norham Manor) (Controlled Parking Zone) Order 1999, Oxfordshire County Council (Brake Hill) (Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2005, Oxfordshire County Council (Minchery Farm) (Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2005, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford Area – Various Streets) (Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting And Loading And Permitted Parking) Order 2022 will all be further amended as necessary.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by 26 September 2025. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.
