What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT

THE BRENT (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (SCHOOL STREETS) (PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE ZONES) (CONSOLIDATION) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent (hereinafter referred to as the “the Council”) on 26th August 2025 made the above mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The general effect of the above Order will be to: -

    (a) combine into a single Traffic Order all of the existing school street pedestrian and cycle zones within the London Borough of Brent; and

    (b) consolidate and apply an exemption for Goods Vehicles registered with the Council to enter a prescribed street to load and unload; and

    (c) further ensure that residents living in a prescribed street need to obtain a virtual permit to gain access to a prescribed street during the prescribed hours.

  3. A copy of the proposed Order, which will come into operation on 8th September 2025, of the relevant documents and of the above-mentioned Order of 2025 can be requested via email during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at traffictorders@brent.gov.uk

    .

  4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
