(KILBY ROAD AND WATSON ROAD, STEVENAGE) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (EXPERIMENTAL) (AMENDMENT NO 1) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Stevenage Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council have made the above named Order under Sections 9, 10 and Parts III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, to introduce experimental no waiting at any time restrictions in parts of Kilby Road and Watson Road. This Order is made for the purposes of carrying out an experimental scheme of traffic control relating to assessing the effectiveness of parking restrictions.
A copy of this Notice, the sealed Experimental Amendment Order which comes into force on 1 September 2025, together with a statement of reasons for making the Order and plans showing the lengths of road to which the Order relates, can be examined during normal opening hours at the Council’s offices in Daneshill House. Details can also be viewed on the Council’s web site at https://www.stevenage.gov.uk/parking/traffic-regulation-orders/proposed-traffic-orders.
General enquiries, objections and comments of support about this Order should be referred to the Parking Management Officer, Darren Nottingham 01438 242242 or tro@stevenage.gov.uk.
Stevenage Borough Council will monitor the effects of the restrictions and may amend the experimental provisions, if considered necessary.
Stevenage Borough Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of this Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Order within the period of six months, beginning with the day on which the experimental order came into force, or if this Order is varied by another order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification came into force. Objections to the provisions of this Order being continued in force indefinitely may be made in writing to Stevenage Borough Council, Stevenage Borough Council Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN or via email at tro@stevenage.gov.uk by the 2 March 2026 stating the grounds on which they are made. Requests for adjustments and supporting comments will also be considered during this period.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
