What is happening?

Cromwell Avenue (24-Hour Clearway) Temporary Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & in accordance with Section 43 of The Road Traffic Act 1991 & Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 & of all other enabling powers. The effect of which is to introduce a 24-Hour Clearway where no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to stop or remain at rest “at any time” on Cromwell Ave in both directions between Sankey Way & the Canons Rd/Waterways Roundabout. The Order will be effective from 1st September 2025. The restrictions are for a period of up to 12 months, however, will be in place as & when the signs are in place on site. The restrictions are required due to works associated with the Peace Centre Redevelopment & to safeguard children on their journeys to & from the local school whilst the works are being carried out.
