What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(KERSAL VALE ROAD, PRESTWICH)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:–

Kersal Vale Road, Prestwich – between Moor Lane & Agecroft Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate Electricity Northwest works

The alternative route will be via Moor Lane, Bury New Road, Hilton Lane, Rainsough Brow & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 01/09/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 2 weeks.

(PINFOLD LANE, PARK LANE, HIGHER LANE - WHITEFIELD)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:–

1. Pinfold Lane, Whitefield – between Higher Lane & Pinfold Court

2. Park Lane, Whitefield – between Park Hill Drive & Higher Lane

3. Higher Lane, Whitefield – between Parklands & Wentworth Court

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works

Three alternative routes will be:

i. Via Church Lane & Bury New Road

ii. Via Ringway Road, Ten Acre Drive & Standmoor Road

iii. Via Church Lane, Bury New Road, Whitefield Interchange, Bury New Road & vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 15/09/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING, TEMPORARY RESIDENTS PARKING ZONE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from waiting and loading along:–

Bury Old Road, Prestwich – (west side) – Ostrich Lane to Newtown Street

Balmoral Grange, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Beechwood Road, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Bellfield Road, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Charlbury Avenue, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Dovedale Avenue, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Downham Crescent, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Downham Gardens, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

Eastleigh Road, Prestwich (both sides) – full length

The reason for the order is to reduce nuisance parking and the risk of danger to the public in the area during the Festwich event.

Residents will be issued with a temporary resident’s parking permit for the duration of the order.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 30/08/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 3 days or until the completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
