A38 Trunk Road & M5 Motorway - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For Associated Maintenance Works

What is happening?

THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (ISLAND SHOP, LISKEARD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NUMBER 3

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A38 trunk road in the County of Cornwall to allow cable and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place over four nights (19.00 to 07.00) commencing on or after 15 September 2025.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of the A38 eastbound entry slip road at Island Shop Junction.

During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A38 and local roads.

The closure (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order would come into force on 13 September 2025 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

THE M5 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 28 TO 30)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the M5 Motorway in the County of Devon so resurfacing and associated works can be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (19.00 to 06.00) on or after 15 September 2025 and be completed by 20 December 2025.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of:

(a) the southbound carriageway of the M5 between Junctions 28 and 29;

(b) the southbound carriageway of the M5 between Junctions 29 and 30;

(c) the southbound entry slip road at Junction 28;

(d) the southbound entry and exit slip roads at Junction 29;

(e) the southbound exit slip road at Junction 30

During the closures traffic would be diverted via junctions of the M5 and local roads.

The closures (which would not apply to emergency services and works vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic management measures are in place.

The Order would come into force on 13 September 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
