What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Remote Footway – St Marys Lane, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended

Effect of the order: To temporarily close remote footway known as St Marys Lane, Maldon in the District of Maldon from its junction with The Hythe southwest for approximately 51 metres

The closure is scheduled to commence on 09 September 2025 for one day tor where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the disconnection of an overhead service is undertaken.

Alternative route: Promenade Park, Mill Road and vice versa

The Order will come into effect on 09 September 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bridleway 24, Heybridge)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridleway 24 Heybridge in the District of Maldon, from its junction with footpath 57 to its junction with footpath 12, with additional gate at junction with footpath 58, for approximately 500 metres.

Pedestrians Only – From its junction with Bridleway 60 north to its junction with Footpath 57

The closure is scheduled to commence on 01 September 2025 to 27 February 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the replacement of the existing floodgates is undertaken.

Alternative routes:

Pedestrians – Footpath 57, Footpath 53, Footpath 11, Footpath 12 and vice versa

Equestrians and Cyclist – Bridleway 60 (from FP 24) west to the Blackwater Trail and vice versa.

Pedestrians from FP58 – Downstream Footpath 24, Footpath 57, Footpath 11 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 01 September 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic &

Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.13) 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule.

  2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 4th September 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network.

The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Church Close to its junction with Wellands a distance of approximately 310m.

    1. To temporarily close that length of Church Green, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from both its junctions with Church Road to its end a distance of approximately 185m.

    2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closures only.

    “The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage improvements works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

    An alternative route is available via Church Road, Blacksmiths Lane, Maypole Road, Langford Road, Maldon Road, Witham Road, Langford Road, Station Road, Church Road and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Fitch’s Crescent, Maldon)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fitch’s Crescent, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 265m south west then south east then south west of its junction with Park Drive for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M135874 – Essex And Suffolk Water).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while temporary to permanent reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

    No alternative route is available.

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Fish Street, Goldhanger) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    1. To temporarily close that length of Fish Street, Goldhanger in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Head Street to its end a distance of approximately 320m.

    2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

    “The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only.     The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (The Hythe, Maldon)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Hythe, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 60m south east of its junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30088120898 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while disconnection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

    No alternative route is available.

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
