(20mph Zone) Order 2025

(Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.45) order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Orders under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53, 84(1) (a) and (2) and Parts IV and III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

    1. To Revoke: ‘No Waiting Mon–Fri 10am–11am’ restrictions

      Road: (B1024) Coggeshall Road

      Description:

      East Side:

      i. From a point approximately 6 metres north of the northern boundary line of No. 17 Coggeshall Road south for approximately 105 metres.

      ii. From a point approximately 48 metres south of its junction with Observer Way south east for approximately 12 metres.

  1. To Implement: ‘No Waiting Mon–Fri 10am–11am’ restrictions

    Road: (B1024) Coggeshall Road, Kelvedon

    Description:

    East Side:

    i. From a point approximately 30 metres north of its junction with Doughton Road, northeast for approximately 52 metres.

    ii. From a point approximately 6 metres north of the southern boundary line of No. 17 Coggeshall Road south for approximately 12 metres.

    Road: Doughton Road

    Description:

    Both Sides: From a point approximately 10 metres southwest of its junction with Coggeshall Road, south west for approximately 12 metres.

    3. To Implement:No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions

    Road Description
    (B1024) Coggeshall Road East Side:
        i. From the extended northern kerb line of Foxglove Place north for approximately 15 metres.
        ii. From the extended southern kerb line of Foxglove Place south for approximately 14 metres.
        iii. From the extended north western kerb line of Doughton Road northwest for approximately 10 metres.
        iv. From the extended south eastern kerb line of Doughton Road southeast for approximately 10 metres.
    Doughton Road Both Sides: From its junction with Coggeshall Road southwest for approximately 10 metres.
    Foxglove Drive Both Sides: From its junction with Coggeshall Road east for approximately 8 metres.

    This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ by substituting map tile: TL860 195 Revision 0 to Revision 1

    4. To Implement: a ‘20mph Zone’

    Road Description
    Bluebell Close From its junction with Foxglove Drive south for its entire length including private drives and turning heads.
    Foxglove Drive From a point approximately 8 metres east of its junction with B1024 Coggeshall Road for its remaining length including private drives and turning heads.

    Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on

    01 September 2025

    Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

    (Braintree Road, Great Bardfield)

    (40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

    (Deer Park View, Great Bardfield) (20mph Zone) Order 202*

    Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Orders under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

    The Effect of the Order:

    1. To Implement – a ‘20mph Zone’ (TRAF/8635)

    Road: Deer Park View

    Direction: From its junction with Braintree Road, for its entire remaining length including any private drives and turning heads

    2. To Implement – a ‘40mph Speed Limit’ (currently a National Speed Limit 60mph) (TRAF/8636)

    Road: Braintree Road

    Direction: From a point approximately 33 metres north of the centre of the junction of Deer Park View south and southeast for approximately 217.5 metres

    (Avenue Road, Witham)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Avenue Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Collingwood Road to its junction with The Avenue, a distance of approximately 30m.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001444869 – Cadent).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

    An alternative route is available via Newland Street, Collingwood Road and vice versa (with access only into The Avenue).

    The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Panfield Lane, Braintree & Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Panfield Lane, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 35m south east of its junction with Bunyan Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a south easterly direction.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG0H1G0NSB – Openreach).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while underground cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

    An alternative route is available via Panfield Lane, Rayne Road, Aetheric Road, Bunyan Road and Panfield Lane.

    The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Rickstones Road, Rivenhall)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Rickstones Road, Rivenhall in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Rectory Lane — a distance of approximately 930m.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 5 nights (20:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2386639 – Essex County Council).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching and gully works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

    An alternative route is available via Church Road, Park Road, Western Road, Temple Lane, B1018, Rickstones Road and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Rose Hill, Braintree & Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Rose Hill, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree from a point approximately 15m south east of its junction with Rose Gardens for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166231182 – Anglian Water).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

    An alternative route is available via Mill Hill, Chapel Hill, Lakes Road, Manor Street, Trinovantian Way, Railway Street, South Street and vice versa (with access only into Rose Hill).

    The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Various Roads, District of Braintree)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.14) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

      1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.

      1. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

    1. The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

    The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 4th September 2025. Exact dates will be specified on One.Network.

    The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

    (Church Lane, Braintree & Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Church Lane, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Meadows for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001434829 – Cadent).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

    An alternative route is available via B1053, A1017, B1054, B1057, B1053 and vice versa (with access only into Church Lane).

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Church Street, Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Church Street, Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Ashpole Road to its junction with High Garrett, a distance of approximately 370m.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th September 2025 for 7 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP40054581965-A – Redrow Homes Ltd).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while junction construction works are undertaken by Redrow Homes Ltd.

    An alternative route is available via Church Street, Church Lane, Broad Road, Convent Hill, Broad Road, High Garrett and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Guithavon Street, Witham)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

    To temporarily close that length of Guithavon Street, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Newland Street for a distance of approximately 90m in a north westerly direction.

      • The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140RFSI1279237-DN – Gigaclear).

      • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

    • The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

    An alternative route is available via Newland Street, Mill Lane, Guithavon Street and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
