What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Crabtree Hill, Widdington & North Hall Road, Quendon/Ugley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Crabtree Hill, Widdington in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with North Hall Road for a distance of approximately 230m in a north easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily close that length of North Hall Road, Quendon/Ugley in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of London Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a south easterly then southerly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388865 & EP201EH2391701 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Alternative routes are available via:

  1. B1383, Widdington Road, Spring Hill, High Street and vice versa.

  2. B1383, Widdington Road, Debden Road, Newport Road, Ivy Rodd Hill, Mill Road, High Street, Thaxted Road, Henham Road, Chickney Road, High Street, Church Street, Hall Road, Old Mead Road, North Hall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Duck Street, Wendens Ambo)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Duck Street, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 410m in a south easterly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30021528203 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Duck Street, B1039, B1383, Rookery Lane, Duck Street and vice versa.

(Fullers Lane, Elsenham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fullers Lane, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 320 south east of its junction with Hall Road for a distance of approximately 115m in a south easterly direction. or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA003WFNRWG6J – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Tye Green Road, Claypit Hill, Belmer Road, Burton End Road, Church Road, B1351, B1383, Pound, Bedwell Road, New Road, Station Road, B1051, Hall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 265m south west of its junction with Chapel Green Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30006700769 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via B1039, B1383, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Radwinter Road, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Radwinter Road, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 500m north west of its junction with New House Lane for a distance of approximately 150m north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th September 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20149174126 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while culvert strengthening and repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Radwinter Road, Ashdon Road, B1053, Elizabeth Way, Ashdon Road, Walden Road, Church Hill, Radwinter Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

(Streetworks No.4) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford, as detailed in the Schedule.

The works are scheduled to commence after 4th September 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro-ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Royston Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Audley End Station for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410282422 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap/boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via B1039, B1368, A505, A1301, B1383, B1039 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
