What is happening?

(Bayley Street, Castle Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bayley Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with St James Street for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166331878 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while chamber cover and frame works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Crouch Green, Yeldham Road, Station Road, Queen Street, St James Street and vice versa (with access only into Bayley Street, Pye Corner and Nunnery Street).
The Order will come into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nunnery Street/Pye Corner, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Yeldham Road to the junction with Crown Street a distance of approximately 915m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2326204A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Pye Corner, Bayley Street, St James Street, Queen Street, Station Road, Yeldham Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 21st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
