Mayorswell Close, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Repair Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Mayorswell Close, Durham) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025

The Council on 21 /08/25 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on an approximate 75 metre length of footpath at Mayorswell Close between numbers 10 and 29, Durham to enable water leak repair works to be undertaken. The alternative route is available via a parallel footpath east of the closed path. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The works are expected to commence on 22/08/25 and anticipated to be completed in 1 day. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
