Somerset, Temporary Road Closure Due To Level Crossing Testing Works
What is happening?
Somerset Council Parishes of Burrowbridge and Stoke St Gregory Temporary Closure of Stanmoor Road and Curioad Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Stanmoor Road - from 451 metres southwest of the junction with Athelney Bridge, south-westwards incorporating Curioad Road for a total distance of 85 metres. This Order will enable Network Rail to carry out level crossing testing works.
The Order becomes effective on 11th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 15th September 2025 and last until 16th September 2025 between the hours of 22:00 - 06:00 for a total of 1 night.
