What is happening?

Temporary Closure Of Various Roads, Piddlehinton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Piddlehinton as listed: [i] B3143, Piddlehinton & Piddletrenthide from the junction with B3142 Waterston Lane to the junction with Sun Lane, Piddletrenthide; [ii] Rectory Road, Piddlehinton from the junction with B3143 to the junction with West Lane; [iii] London Row, Piddlehinton from the junction with B3143 Church Hill to a point approximately 850 metres north-east; [iv] Road Past European Inn, White Lackington in its entirety.

Closures [i] - [iii] will be in place from 22nd September 2025 to 3rd October 2025 and closure [iv] will be in place from 29th September 2025 to 10th October 2025. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 3rd October 2025. Access for residents and buses will be maintained throughout.

This Order will provide Wessex Internet with safe access to install fibre infrastructure.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure Of Church Street, Upwey, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHURCH STREET, UPWEY, between Old School Cottage and 54 Church Street, a distance of approximately 155 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 September 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath 6, Portland

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath 6, from grid reference SY 6858 7290 to grid reference SY 6830 7254, a distance of approximately 475 metres. SY 6820 728 to grid reference SY 6977 7177, a distance of approximately 380 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 5 September 2025 for a period of 26 weeks and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order is required for health and safety reasons due to land slips.

Alternative routes are waymarked – please follow the Southwest Coast Path Diversion signs.

Temporary Traffic Management Order Of Unnamed Lane, Sturminster Marshall

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19th September 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out bridge repair works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary road closure on Unnamed Lane, Sturminster Marshall and White Mill Bridge as indicated by signage on site.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure Of A35, Morden Park Corner

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th October 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out drainage works.

[1] To impose temporary road closure on A35, Morden Park Corner from junction with C60 to a point approximately 2690 metres to the west (in both directions). A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along A35, Morden Park Corner from junction with C60 to a point approximately 2690 metres to the west (in both directions). Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
