Wiltshire, Multiple Road, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C336 (Part), Downton: from its property known as Witherington Farm for a distance of approximately 660m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out communication pole inspections and associated works. Alternative route via C336 (unaffected length) – B3080 – A338 – A36 – C324 – C336 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. B) C321 (Part), Pitton and Farley: from its junction with Spire View to its junction with The Green to enable Openreach to carry out communication equipment and associated works. Alternative route via C321 (unaffected length) – C289 – A30 – C321 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. C) Pitts Lane, Sedgehill and Semley: from its junction with C308 to its junction with Bridewell Lane.

D) Bridewell Lane (Part), Sedgehill and Semley: from its junction with Pitts Lane for a distance of approximately 235m in a south westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via Dorset – C308 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 1 day. E) B285 (Part), Idmiston: from its junction with A338 to its junction with Rivermead to enable Wessex Water to carry out to complete a relining of the sewers to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via C285 (unaffected length) – C288 – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 5 days. F) Wyndham Lane, Allington: from its junction with A338 to its junction with Newton Toney Road to enable Wessex Water to carry out to complete a full relining of the sewers in order to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via Newton Toney Road – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required for 5 days. G) C25 (Part), Chicklade and Hindon: from its junction with A303 for a distance of approximately 900m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and associated works. Alternative route via C25 (unaffected length) – B3089 – A303 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Orders A) to G) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversions for each section/route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:

Phase 1: C309 (Part), Westbury and East Knoyle: from its junction with C296 for a distance of approximately 800m in a north easterly direction.

Phase 2: C309 (Part), West Tisbury and East Knoyle: from its junction with C296 for a distance of approximately 800m in a south westerly direction to enable Langley Arb Ltd to carry out tree and associated works. Alternative route via C309 (unaffected length) – C42 – C43 – C296 – C302 – C43.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 23 September 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 and it is anticipated that the works will take 2 days to complete each phase of works. SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:

Phase 1: Street Lane, Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with A350 to its junction with Pitts Lane.

Phase 2: Crate Lane Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with C308 to its junction with Pitts Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway surfacing and associated works. Alternative route phase 1 via Pitts Lane – Dorset – C308 – A350 and vice versa.

Alternative route phase 2 via C308 (unaffected length) – A350 – C308 (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 05 September 2025 and the closures will be required 24 hours a day until 13 September 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users:

Byway 12 (Part), Tilshead: from its junction with A360 to its junction with Bridewell Drove, Edgton to enable concrete slab protection works are required to be carried out to the ESSO FAP pipeline (GW6039) where it crosses Byway 12, Tilshead. In association with these works other works to repair part of the Byway surface and undertake drainage works are being considered, but are not yet confirmed. No alternative route is available. The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 22 September 2025 and the closure will be required until 21 March 2026.

Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
