Thwaite Street - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC Thwaite Street, Cottingham (part)
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Thwaite Street, Cottingham (20 metres either side of the crossing) commencing 23:55 hrs Monday 15 September 2025 until 05:30 hrs Tuesday 16 September 2025 to allow rail inspections works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within the given time.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via: Thwaite Street, Newgate Street, King Street, Northgate, New Village Road, Thwaite Street Roundabout, Cottingham. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all traffic, but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
