Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, CT16 3AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 11th September 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Alkham Road, Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, B2011 Dover Hill, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road and London Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via London Road, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A25 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Avenue, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, Alkham Valley Road and Alkham Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, CT15 6DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bay Hill, St Margarets Bay, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 72m from the junction of St Margarets Road to the entrance of the site, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bay Hill, Hotel Road, Granville Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cheriton Place, Walmer, CT14 7DU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cheriton Place, Walmer, on or after 25th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the side of number 1 Cheriton Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cheriton Place, North Barrack Road, A258 The Strand, Cheriton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Connaught Road, Dover, CT16 1HW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow lining works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Connaught Road, Dover, on or after 23rd September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of A258 Castle Hill Road and Old Charlton Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A258 Castle Hill Road, Dover Road, Old Charlton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Coxhill, Shepherdswell, CT15 7NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coxhill, Shepherdswell, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Coxhill Farmhouse to outside Woodbine Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coxhill, A2 Dover Road, Coldred Hill, Coldred Road, Church Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Duke Street & Nelson Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Duke Street & Nelson Street, Deal, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

Duke Street will be closed at the junction of Nelson Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Water Street, Princes Street, Ark Lane, Western Road, West Street and Duke Street.

Nelson Street will be closed at the junction of Duke Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Duke Street, Robert Street, Princes Street, Ark Lane, Western Road and West Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ellens Road, Deal, CT14 9JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellens Road, Deal, on or after 9th September 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Ripple View, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellens Road, Mongeham Road, St Richards Road, Cross Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Fleming Road, Woodnesborough, CT13 0PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fleming Road, Woodnesborough, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Ringlemere Cottage to the junction of Drainless Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Drainless Road, Beacon Lane, Beacon Hill Road, Marshborough Road, New Street, The Street, Guilton, Durlock Road, Lower Road, Fleming Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Golf Road, Deal, CT14 6QN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Golf Road, Deal, on or after 26th September 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 116, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Godwyn Road, King Edward Road, Harold Road, Golf Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Liverpool Road, Walmer, CT14 7QW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Liverpool Road, Walmer, on or after 26th September 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of St Clare for approximately 200m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Liverpool Road, St Clare Road, Grams Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Marley Lane, Finglesham, CT14 0NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Marley Lane, Finglesham, on or after 23rd September 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1 Finglesham Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Marley Lane, The Street, Broad Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Meadow Road, Sturry, CT2 0JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2025

To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Meadow Road, Sturry, from 9th September 2025, with estimated completion by 12th September 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Sleigh Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sleigh Road, Cedar Road, Meadow Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

South Street, Deal, CT14 7AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street, Deal, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Lane, Guston, CT15 5ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow solar works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Lane, Guston, on or after 8th September 2025 for up to 365 days or until the works have been completed.

The closure will be imposed 24/7 from 8th September 2025, with estimated completion by 20th November 2025. The road will then be closed when it is indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The Lane will be closed from outside Meadow Croft to outside Cherry Tree Cottage.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Lane, Dover Road, A258 Castle Hill Road, A258 Deal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
