Kent - Temporary Road Closure due to Carriageway and Bridge Repair Works
What is happening?
A2 TRUNK ROAD – DARENTH INTERCHANGE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order is to authorise weekend closure of the road connecting from the westbound carriageway of the A2 to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2).
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway and bridge repairs and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will be done in 2 phases last starting on or after Saturday 6th September 2025. The closures will take place between (maximum periods) Saturday 20:00 to Monday 5:30.
The Order will come into force on
4th September 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be directed to use the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (Junction 2).
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
