The East Sussex (Public Footpath Mayfield and Five Ashes 51c)
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025
To protect public safety while South East Water and their contractors conduct essential maintenance on an existing water abstraction borehole, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
The whole of Public Footpath Mayfield and Five Ashes 51c will be closed to all users between TQ 6043 2740 and TQ 6067 2756 for a distance of 360 metres. Unfortunately, there is no alternative route, but a suggested alternative is to use other Mayfield and Five Ashes Public Rights of Way to the East such as footpath 54a, bridleways 57g, 49f, 49e, 49d, footpath 51d and vice versa.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 1 September 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (B2112 Clayton Road, Ditchling)
(Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 40 mph:
Temporary 40 mph Speed Limit
Clayton Road – from the junction with C203 Beacon Road to the junction with Clayton Road (WSX).
The Order commences 18 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place on 18 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2102 Framfield Road, Blackboys)
(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025 No.2
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Framfield Road – from the junction with U7404 Pump Lane to the junction with U7405 Gun Road.
The Order commences 15 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 15 and 26 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Church Road – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 18 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure Holly Close – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 15 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 24 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Forest Lane – from the junction with U7911 Blackdown Lane to Hooksdown Farm.

To allow Barr Engineering Services to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Barn Road – from the junction with U5137 Church Lane to the junction with U5133 Prince Charles Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5133 Barn Road, Queens Road, Fitzgerald Road – U5137 Church Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 17 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
West Street – from the junction with C14 High Street to the junction with C14 Stone Cross.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C14 Stone Cross, Station Road, High Street and vice versa.
The Order commences 17 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 and 18 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Station Road – from the junction with U7868 Church Lane to the junction with U7523 Northfield Cottages.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C9 Buckham Hill – C10 Shortbridge Road – A272 Batts Bridge Road – A22 Batts Bridge roundabout, Maresfield bypass, Blackdown roundabout, Uckfield bypass, Copwood roundabout, Uckfield bypass, Little Horsted roundabout – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road – C9 Isfield Road, Lewes Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (Skyline Events London to Brighton Cycle Ride)
(Special Event) Order 2025
To enable Skyline Events to hold the London to Brighton cycle event on Sunday 14 September 2025, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 16 A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure – from 00:01hrs to 23:59hrs on 14 September 2025
C203 Upper Beacon Road & C203 Ditchling Road, Ditchling – from the junction with B2112 Clayton Road to the Brighton & Hove county boundary.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic south via Ditchling Road toward Coldean Lane. Turn right onto Coldean Lane. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Carden Avenue. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A27 ramp to Worthing/London/Hove/A23. Merge onto A27. Take the ramp to A23/London/Brighton/Gatwick Airport. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A27. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto London Road/A23. Slight left onto A273. Turn right onto B2112 Clayton Road and vice versa.
Access by emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The Order commences 1 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 1 and 5 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Station Approach – from the junction with A259 The Drove to the junction with B2109 Railway Road.

The Order commences 4 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 23:00hrs to 05:00hrs between 4 and 6 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Layby Old A22 – from the junction with A22 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7403 Bradfords Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Eastbourne Road – U7403 Bradfords Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 13 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 20 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7583 Dog Kennel Lane – A272 Summer Hill – A267 Mayfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 29 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 August and 1 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Riverside – from the junction with C508 Wilderness Lane to the junction with U7586 Sheepwash Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7586 Sheepwash Lane – B2102 Lewes Road, High Street – C508 Chapel Lane, Wilderness Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 1 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7808 New Road, Crowborough)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
New Road – from the junction with A26 Eridge Road to the junction with B2100 High Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 Eridge Road – B2100 High Street.
To facilitate this closure, a suspension of one-way traffic will be in place (revert to twoway traffic) during these works.
The Order commences 1 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 12 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Holmes Hill/Whitesmith/South Street/East Hoathly Bypass/Eastbourne Road/Uckfield Bypass – from the junction with A26 Lewes Road to the junction with A22 Golden Cross.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Golden Cross, The Dicker, Boship roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Arlington Eagles roundabout, Polegate Road, Hailsham Road – A22(T) Cop Hall roundabout, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road, Beddingham roundabout, Ranscombe Hill, Southerham roundabout – A26 Southerham Road, Cuilfail Tunnel, Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout, Malling Street, Malling Hill, Malling Down, Uckfield Road, Rose Hill, Lewes Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 and 3 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
