Drummau Road, Skewen - Temporary Road Closure to Enable Network Rail to Carry Out Civil Engineering, Tree Cutting and Essential Railway Maintenance Works
What is happening?

CYNGOR BWRDEISTREF SIROL CASTELL-NEDD PORT TALBOT (DRUMMAU ROAD, SKEWEN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable Network Rail to carry out civil engineering, tree cutting and essential railway maintenance works in the road.
The Order will come into force on the 21st September 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner.
It is anticipated that the works will take 1 day and 1 night to complete during the last 2 weeks of September.
SCHEDULE
Drummau Road will be closed from the junction of New Road in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 150m along its length. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of Drummau Road, B4291 Birchgrove Road, A4230 Park Avenue, Sidings Terrace and New Road, Skewen.
Similarly, this route will operate in a reverse direction. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
