St Marys Way & Haslingden Road - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (ST MARYS WAY & HASLINGDEN ROAD, RAWTENSTALL, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway:
i. A682 Haslingden Road for its entire length.
ii. St Marys Way for its entire length.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2000 hours until 0500 hours on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 until Thursday 2nd October 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- A56 Haslingden Bypass - A56 Accrington Bypass - A679 Burnley Road - Accrington Road - A646 Rossendale Road - A671 Bacup Road - Burnley Road - Bocholt Way and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
