Bootle, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Bridge Maintenance Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4276 BOOTLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge maintenance works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U4276 Bootle, from a point at the entrance to Syke Beck Farm, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 30m.

There is no suitable alternative route available.

The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0800 and 1600 hours and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
