THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (WHITWELL DUALS) (TEMPORARY 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the District of North Yorkshire, to enable barrier repair works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start at 9pm on Wednesday 24 September 2025 for 2 nights, or until completed.

The effect of the Order will be, for 8 hours a day, to impose temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway 1200 metres west of Slingsby Hovingham Junction to 210 metres west of Slingsby Hovingham Junction, a distance of 890 metres.

Traffic management will be in force and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles).

The Order comes into force on the 23 September 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
