ROAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
(AMENDMENT NO.4) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Darlington Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following changes to the Darlington Borough Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) Consolidation Order 2024:
To remove the No Waiting at any time and No Loading / Unloading at any time restriction to the following lengths of Woodland Road:
the north side, from its junction with Greenbank Road to its junction with Pierremont Drive
the south side, from a point 0.5 metres west of the western boundary 19 Woodland Road to the eastern boundary 135 Woodland Road
To add the the No Waiting at any time and No Loading / Unloading at any time restriction to the following lengths of Woodland Road:
the north side, from its junction with Greenbank Road to a point 9.5 metres west of its junction with Hollyhurst Road
the north side, from a point 53 metres west of its junction with Hollyhurst Road to a point 4.5 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Road
the north side, from a point 8.4 metres east of its junction with Bracken Road to its junction with Dene Grove
the south side, from a point 0.5 metres west of the western boundary 19 Woodland Road to a point 7.5 metres west of its junction with Hollyhurst Road
the south side, from a point 52 metres west of its junction with Hollyhurst Road to a point 4 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Crescent
the south side, from a point 44 metres to a point 123.5 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Crescent
To remove the No Waiting at any time restriction from the following lengths of Woodland Road:
the north side, from a point 15 metres west to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Bracken Road
the north side, from a point 15 metres west to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Dene Grove
the north side, from its junction with Tower Road westwards for a distance of 15 metres
the north side, from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Road to a point 21 metres east of its junction with Pierremont Drive
the south side, from a point 12 metres west to a point 19 metres east of its junction with Pierremont Crescent
the south side, from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Gardens to the eastern boundary 135 Woodland Road
To add the No Waiting at any time restriction to the following lengths of Woodland Road:
the north side, from its junction with Dene Grove westwards for a distance of 2 metres
the north side, from a point 45 metres west of its junction with Dene Grove to its junction with West Auckland Road
the south side, from a point 5.3 metres west of its junction with Dene Grove to its junction with West Auckland Road
the south side, from a point 9.5 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Crescent to a point 44 metres west of its junction with Pierremont Crescent

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Sections 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1990 that Darlington Borough Council proposes to install the following six humped priority crossing features:
1 raised priority crossing at 100mm high (maximum), overall length 7.5 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Dene Grove.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Dene Grove and Woodland Road.
1 raised priority crossing at 100mm high (maximum), overall length 8.5 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Bracken Road.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Bracken Road and Woodland Road.
1 raised priority crossing at 50mm high (maximum), length 5 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Pierremont Road.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Pierremont Road and Woodland Road.
1 raised priority crossing at 50mm high (maximum), length 6.3 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Pierremont Drive.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Pierremont Drive and Woodland Road.
1 raised priority crossing at 50mm high (maximum), length 5.8 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Pierremont Gardens.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Pierremont Gardens and Woodland Road.
1 raised priority crossing at 50mm high (maximum), length 7.9 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Tower Road.
On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15. Located at the junction of Tower Road and Woodland Road.
Arrangement of Priority Crossings – Crossing features align with the junction of Woodland Road and extend for the specified length into the respective named road. All dimensions and locations in this notice are approximate. The crossing signs and road markings will be installed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. A plan showing the locations of the priority crossings features may be inspected at Darlington Borough Council, 17 Allington Way, Darlington, DL1 4QB. If you wish to object to the proposed installation of any of the humped priority crossing features referred to in the notice above you should send the grounds of your objection in writing by the 18th September 2025 to the Assistant Director – Law and Governance, Town Hall, Darlington DL1 5QT (Ref: AE) or by email to trafficorders@darlington.gov.uk.
