Browning Close, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Gas Mains Works

What is happening?

HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

Temporary Footpath Closure -Browning Close, Basingstoke & Deane

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

FOOTPATH TO BE CLOSED: that part of Browning Close between its junction with Shakespeare Road and continuing to 40 Browning Close.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Shakespeare Road, Browning Close.

DURATION OF ORDER: from Tuesday 26th August 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 2 weeks and this order will be in operation 24 hours a day).

The Temporary Footpath Closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for I & G Contractors to complete gas mains replacement.
