TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

FRAMINGHAM EARL – C797 Long Road from 70m west of its junction with U71372 Saint Annes Road for 165m westwards to facilitate cable installation works from 26th August to 2nd September 2025 (may continue until 14th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Long Road, Hall Road, Upgate, Rectory Lane, B1332 The Street, Long Road (Poringland, Framingham Earl). The works promoter is AC Webb.

GOODERSTONE – Gooderstone Road from its junction with Swaffham Road for 185m southwards to facilitate new potable water main installation works from 26th August to 1st September 2025 (may continue until 13th October 2025). Alternative route is via: C44 Swaffham Road, U33254 Watermill Lane (Oxborough, Cockley Cley, Gooderstone). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

HADDISCOE – C388 Wiggs Road from its junction with A143 The Street for 75m southwards to facilitate carriageway repair works from 28th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Wiggs Road, Rectory Road, Rectory Lane, A143 Church Hill, A143 The Street. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

HALES AND HECKINGHAM – C385 Norton Road from its junction with U76348 School Lane to its junction with U76349 Briar Lane to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 28th August 2025 (may continue until 9th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Norton Road, Loddon Road, The Street, Beccles Road, B1136 Yarmouth Road, A146 Beccles Road, Beccles Road, Mill Road, Norton Road (Norton Subcourse, Haddiscoe, Hales, Heckingham, Loddon, Thurlton, Raveningham). The works promoter is Openreach.

LITTLE MELTON

  1. C169 School Lane from its junction with U78135 Braymeadow Lane for 1350m westwards and

  2. Mill Road from its junction with Rectory Lane to its junction with Great Melton Road to facilitate resurfacing works from 26th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

    Alternative route is via: School Lane, Great Melton Road, Rectory Lane, Watton Road, Green Lane (Bawburgh, Little Melton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

LONG STRATTON – A140 Norwich Road from its junction with A140 New Long Stratton Bypass for 370m southwards to facilitate construction works for Long Stratton Bypass Scheme from 26th August to 12th September 2025 (may continue until 24th October 2025). Alternative route is via: A140 New Long Stratton Bypass. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

LYNG – C198 Heath Road from its junction with C198 The Common for 160m southwards to facilitate fire hydrant repair works from 27th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025). Alternative route is via: C198 Heath Road/Lyng Road/Primrose Green/Lyng Road, C198/C489 Main Road, C888 Moore’s Road/Tuddenham Road/Dereham Road/Greengate/Gooseberry Hill/Town Street/Mill Street/Dereham Road, A1067 Fakenham Road, C212 Elsing Lane/Mill Street, U35062 Mill Street/Fustyweed/Elsing Road and vice versa (Bawdeswell, North Tuddenham, Bylaugh, Swanton Morley, Elsing). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

SPOONER ROW – U78328 Broom Road from its junction with U76287 Common Road for 800m westwards to facilitate patching works from 28th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Wattfield Road, Wymondham Road, Bunwell Street, The Turnpike, New Road, Common Road (Forncett, Bunwell, Carleton Rode, Spooner Row, Tacolneston). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SWAFFHAM – Cley Road from 20m southwest of its junction with Wolferton Drive for 950m south-westwards to facilitate pole testing works between 15:30 and 23:59 on 27th August 2025 (may continue until 8th October 2025). Alternative route is via: A134 Stoke Ferry Bypass/Whittington Hill/Thetford Road/Cranwich Road, A1065 Swaffham Road/London Street, Globe Hill, Haspalls Road (Hilborough, Ickburgh, Stoke Ferry, Swaffham, Great Cressingham, Northwold, Mundford, Cranwich, Cockley Cley). The works promoter is BT.

SWAFFHAM

  1. Northwell Pool Road from its junction with Sporle Road for 100m northwards and

  2. Northwell Pool Road from its junction with Regal Close for 160m north eastwards to facilitate blockage clearing works. Road 1 will be temporarily closed, and Road 2 shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (northeast bound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a south westerly and north easterly direction from 27th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

    Alternative route is via: Sporle Road, New Sporle Road, Couhe Close.

    The works promoter is SpliceTech South.

TROWSE WITH NEWTON

  1. A146 Loddon Road/Trowse Bypass from its junction with B1332 Bungay Road to its junction with A146 Barrett Road and

  2. A146 Loddon Road/Trowse Bypass from its junction with A146 Martineau Lane to its junction with C577 Kirby Lane to facilitate lining works from 26th August to 7th September 2025 (may continue until 19th October 2025).

    Alternative route is via: B1332 Bungay Road, Norwich Road, The Street, Bungay Road, Norwich Road, B1527 Church Road, Short New Road, Hempnall Road, Mill Road, A140 Ipswich Road, Norwich Road A146 Lakenham Road, Hall Road, Barrett Road (Poringland, Swainsthorpe, Kirstead, Framingham Earl, Brooke, Morningthorpe and Fritton, Topcroft, Keswick and Intwood, Stoke Holy Cross, Woodton, Hempnall, Tasburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Long Stratton, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley, Newton Flotman).

    The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

DOWNHAM MARKET – Bridge Street (footway only) from its junction with Priory Terrace for 45m westwards to facilitate meter exchange works between 08:00 and 12:00 on 27th August 2025 (may continue until 8th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Bridge Street, High Street, Priory Road.

The works promoter is Anglian Water.

GAYTON – U22030 Common Lane from 50m east of its junction with B1153 Gayton Road for 150m north-eastwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Common Lane, Old Norwich Road, Litcham Road, East Walton Road.

The works promoter is BT.

KING’S LYNN – Kensington Road from 45m east of its junction with Kent Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 27th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Kensington Road, Kent Road, Jermyn Road, Queensway.

The works promoter is Anglian Water.

NORDELPH – Outwell Road from its junction with Barroway Drove Road to its junction with B1094 Silt Road to facilitate carriageway patching works between 18:00 and 06:00 from 27th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Outwell Road, Silt Road, Downham Road, Lady Drove, Bridge Road, Station Road, A1122 Western Bypass/Southern Bypass, A10 Downham Eastern Bypass/Lynn Road/Fordham Bypass/Main Road/Southery Bypass, Ferry Bank, A10 Lynn Road, A1101 Wisbech Road, Bates Drove, Wash Road, Suspension Bridge, Main Street, Wisbech Road, Welney Road, Townsend Road, New Road, Town Street, Rectory Road, Church Terrace (Downham West, Downham, Nordelph, Denver, Downham Market, Southery, Littleport, Hilgay, Fordham, Ryston, Welney, Outwell, Upwell).

The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NORTHWOLD AND WHITTINGTON – Methwold Road from 110m north of its junction with A134 Thetford Road for 20m to facilitate supply replacement works from 26th to 28th August 2025 (may continue until 9th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Methwold Road, West End, Thetford Road.

The works promoter is Anglian Water.

NORTHWOLD AND WHITTINGTON – Thetford Road from its junction with Foulden Road for 200m eastwards and 200m westwards to facilitate patching works from 28th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: N/A.

The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

ROYDON – Station Road from its junction with Stoney Road for 50m southwards to facilitate sewer connection works from 25th to 29th August 2025 (may continue until 10th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: Station Road, Lynn Road, Hillington Road (Roydon, Congham, Castle Rising).

The works promoter is Kings Lynn Construction.

RUNCTON HOLME – C789 School Road from its junction with College Lane for 80m westwards to facilitate drainage installation works between 07:30 and 16:00 from 26th August to 12th September 2025 (may continue until 24th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: School Road, Lynn Road, Thieves Bridge Road, Downham Road, Watlington Road (Watlington, Runcton Holme).

The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
