Next Ness Lane, Temporary Road Closure Due To Utility Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (NEXT NESS LANE, ULVERSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Next Ness Lane, Ulverston, from a point approx. 340 metres west of its junction with the U5115, extending in a south westerly then north westerly direction for approx. 1.1 km.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via Plumpton Lane, U5115, Newland Road (A590) and the unrestricted section of Next Ness Lane (U5727).

The Order will come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 6 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
