Hertfordshire - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Maintenance Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BATCHWORTH LANE, NORTHWOOD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Batchworth Lane, Northwood from its junction with A4251 Sandy Lane south westwards to its junction with Farrington Place, a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A4125 (Sandy Lane/Watford Road), Eastbury Avenue, Davenham Avenue and Batchworth Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 11 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NIGHTINGALE ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Nightingale Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Nightingale Place north eastwards to its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road, a distance of approximately 142m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Nightingale Road, A412 (Uxbridge Road/Rectory Road) and A404 Chorleywood Road or via A404 Chorleywood Road, Valley Road, The Drive and Nightingale Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A41 HEMPSTEAD ROAD, HUNTON BRIDGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the length of A41 Hempstead Road, Hunton Bridge from its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/A411 Hempstead Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with Old Mill Road, a distance of approximately 228m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A41 (North Western Avenue), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A414 (unnamed road), the M1, A414 (Breakspear Way/St Albans Road/Two Waters Road/Two Waters Way), A4251 (London Road/Hempstead Road/High Street/Watford Road) and A41 Watford Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ASTONS ROAD, MOOR PARK) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Astons Road, Moor Park from its junction with Batchworth Lane north eastwards to its junction with Anson Walk, a distance of approximately 76m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 28 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
