Order 2020
The above-named Order made by the Council on 21/2/20, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 1/3/20 and was subsequently extended to 31/8/25 has been continued in force from 1/9/25, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 31/8/26 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on 1060 metres of Bridleway number 15 Hawthorn Parish that extends eastwards from 160 metres east of East Farm, Cold Hesledon, Seaham to enable new Spine Road development works to be undertaken. Alternative route will be available to traffic from the western side of the closure from via a temporary route south of the closed section leading to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
