Grove Road South - Temporary Road Closure

What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Grove Road South) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.145) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
GROVE ROAD SOUTH

From its junction with Queens Cresent to its junction with The Retreat. (As required and notified by signage).
THE RETREAT
From its junction with Grove Road South for 10 metres.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate sewer works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st September 2025 to 30th September 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from:
Grove Road South, Elm Grove, Woodpath; and
The Retreat, Pelham Road, Elm Grove, Grove Road South; and
Elm Grove, Kings Road, Kings Terrace, Southsea Terrace, Kent Road, Grove Road South; and
The Retreat, Pelham Road, St Edwards Road, Queens Place, Queens Crescent, Kent Road, Grove Road South.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
