(PUBLIC FOOTPATH UL12 – WELLINGBOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of Public Footpath UL12 in Wellingborough as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The route to be closed starts on the Irthlingborough Road at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 9117 6758. The route extends generally north easterly for 430 metres and then in a generally easterly direction for 220 metres and then in a generally north easterly direction for 230 metres NGR SP 9191 6798 at point B on the map.
The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A and B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety during highway improvements, widening of the Irthlingborough Road, construction of a new roundabout, construction of a new road (Route 11), construction works, compounds and haul roads.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 3rd September 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There is no alternative route.
