What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2050 LESSONHALL, NEAR WIGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C2050, Lessonhall, near Wigton from a point approx. 930m north west of its junction with the C2051, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 430m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C2050, B5307 Abbeytown and the B5302 Waverbridge.

The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required 18 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
