What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (CHURCH STREET AND THE U5036, BROUGHTON-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;
Church Street, Broughton-In-Furness, from a point approx. 195 metres north west of its junction with Griffin Street, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 120 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Church Street, Station Road, Market Street, Griffin Street, New Street (C5009) and the A593. Duration: From 8th September 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROw/15453)
U5036, Broughton-In-Furness, from a point approx. 1.1 km north east of its junction with Kiln Bank Cross, extending in a predominantly north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1.6 km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5036, U5037 and Kiln Bank Cross (C5008). Duration: From 16th September 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15455)

The Order will come into operation on 8th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
