Durdar Road, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1036 DURDAR ROAD, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C1036 Durdar Road, from its junction with Newbiggin Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.1 km.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C1036 Durdar Road, C1017, C1037 Burthwaite and Newbiggin Road.

The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required from 8 September 2025 until 12 November 2025, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
