(ACLE ROUNDABOUT TO GAPTON HALL ROUNDABOUT, NORFOLK)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the County of Norfolk to enable carriageway resurfacing, the renewal of road markings and studs and lighting renewal works to be carried out in safety.

The works would be carried out in phases, overnight, (8pm to 6am), starting on, or after, Saturday 13 September 2025 and to last for approximately 11 weeks.

The effect of the Order would be to close the A47 eastbound and westbound carriageways between Acle Roundabout and Gapton Hall Roundabout, including the circulatory carriageway of Vauxhall Roundabout.

Eastbound traffic would be diverted to exit the A47 at Trowse Interchange, then via the A146 and A143, Beccles Road and William Adams Way to re-join the A47 at Harfrey’s Roundabout, vice versa for westbound traffic.

All lay-bys adjacent to the eastbound and westbound carriageways between Acle Roundabout and Vauxhall Roundabout would be closed for 24 hours daily for the duration of the works.

Access to properties would be maintained by escort at all times during the works.

The closures (which would not apply to works, winter maintenance, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order would come into force on 8 September 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
