Bonnyton Road, Newtyle - Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting
What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 18 August 2025, Angus Council made The Angus Council (U339 Bonnyton Road, Newtyle) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2025 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that repairs may be undertaken on a damaged culvert and associated landslip. The Order will come into force on 25 August 2025 from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of three weeks. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on Bonnyton Road, Newtyle (U339) from its junction with the Muirhead to Alyth road (B954) north-eastwards for a distance of 310 metres or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will not be maintained. The alternative route is via the Muirhead to Alyth road (B954), Tealing to Auchterhouse road (C6) and Bonnyton Road (U339).
