Southend-on-Sea - Temporary Cycle Way Closure due to Retaining Wall Works

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(SOUTHEND ARTERIAL ROAD (A127))

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE OF CYCLE WAY)

(TTO25-26-26) ORDER 2025

Notice is given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has proposed to make the above Order.

Works are required for Marlborough Ltd to carry out works to a retaining wall.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit the use of the Cycle Way from its junction with Eastwood Road North to outside No.18 Arterial Road.

An alternative walkway will be provided to facilitate the works.

The Orders will come into effect on 01 September 2025 and the works are expected to be completed on 12 September 2025, however this Order may continue in force for a maximum of 6 months to allow for unexpected delays or remedial works.

The Order will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs.
